This year, the CFBS worked doubly hard to provide a festive atmosphere over the two days.
They were marked by the official handing over of a cheque from the Crédit Agricole Foundation to assist in restoring the Scarpe steam locomotive that used to shunt the sugar beet processing plant at Lanchères, as well as by the presence of a 71/4 inch gauge live steam railway and a snack stall.
The weekend was very successful. Almost 1,000 visitors attended, taking part in guided tours of the CFBS works, where two locomotives and one carriage were on display undergoing maintenance work.
With plenty of sunshine, visitors obviously enjoyed themselves, and so did the CFBS employees and volunteers. Many thanks to Line Brunner and Alexandre Hénin for efficiently organizing the event, and to employees and volunteers for their unfailing support.
