A carriage for the disabled

Mercredi 28 Juin 2017 A carriage for the disabled For the past couple of years, the CFBS has been planning to put into a service a carriage able to accommodate disabled passengers.
After having studied how to proceed, our "carriage & wagon" team has just finished fitting an elevator onto carriage BD 201. It will be put into service on 8th July.
This carriage, originallly from the Swiss Chemins de Fer Electriques Veveysans railway, was part of the first batch of Swiss rolling stock to be delivred to the CFBS in 1978, with its sister B 204.
The carriage's large sliding side door and compartment fitted with wide windows make it particularly well suited for this type of use.
In  parallel, a review of all our facilities has been carried out by an expert with a view to gradually adapting them to disabled visitors.
